Undergrad Science Research: Project Design and Mentoring Tactics

WHAT: This workshop focuses on faculty, staff, and graduate students in STEM who carry out research mentorship.

It is structured around practices of idea generation, backwards design, goal setting, and planning initial training.

We will:

  • use current research on effective teaching and mentoring to help you prepare for your undergraduates' research experience.
  • discuss and practice weekly mentorship practices and interaction skill to help all students, including underrepresented minorities, thrive.
