I/digi-I? Reading the 芒鈧渄igital double芒鈧劉: new aesthetics and technoculture
March 14, 9:00am - 10:15amMānoa Campus, 91精品黑料吃瓜M Dance Room 100
Lecture with Dr. Suparna Banerjee:
Drawing on contemporary/Bharatanatyam practice, this lecture will discuss how new dance aesthetics are reconfigured through digitization of the body. I argue that the digital double is seen not merely as an aesthetic tool or psychological state of mind, but as a methodology broadly associated with the politics of the body, identity, history, new aesthetics and technoculture.
