Pili ka Mo驶o: Celebrating Chuck Lawrence's Legacy on Struggles for Justice

Please join the University of Hawai驶i Law Review and a host of prolific scholars on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th, 2022, from 9:00 am 鈥 1:30 pm HST for our virtual symposium, Pili ka Mo驶o: Celebrating Chuck Lawrence鈥檚 Legacy on Struggles for Justice. Professor Lawrence has been a storied professor at the William S. Richardson School of Law for many years. His work has inspired generational movements for racial justice, and he has been a tremendous ally in Kanaka 驶艑iwi sovereignty and self-determination movements. Many beloved faculty from our law school鈥擬ari Matsuda, Eric Yamamoto, Linda Hamilton Krieger, Kapua Sproat, Susan Serrano, and Andrea Freeman, as well as Dean Camille Nelson鈥攚ill be speaking at or moderating the event. They will be joined by faculty from across the 91精品黑料吃瓜 惭腻苍辞补 campus, including Dean Jon Kamakawiwo驶ole Osorio (Hawai驶inui膩kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge), Kamanamaikalani Beamer (Hawai驶inui膩kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge), Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio (Department of Political Science & Indigenous Politics Program), and Craig Howes (Department of English & Center for Biographical Research). Local and national scholars and litigators, including Kimberl茅 Crenshaw (Columbia University), Cheryl Harris (UCLA), James Forman Jr. (Yale), Natsu Taylor Saito (Georgia State University), Sumi Cho (African American Policy Forum), Suzanne Kim (Rutgers University), H艒k奴lani Aikau (University of Victoria), Kim Coco Iwamoto (Former Commissioner, Hawai驶i Civil Rights Commission), and David Cole (National Legal Director, ACLU), will also be presenting.
