Join Russian Club this Wednesday and leave a legacy as you design your very own Matryoshka doll! Interestingly enough, Matryoshka, or Russian nesting dolls, may have their origins in eastern Asian culture! The concept of nested wooden dolls may have originated from China, where some have been found going as far back as 1000 AD. The traditional shape and figure of the Matryoshka doll symbolizes fertility and the act of having dolls stacked within each other represented the act of childbirth and lineage; it also points to the resourcefulness of Russian women. Join us for an afternoon of the arts as we design our very own Matryoshka. Enjoy tea (ﾃ鯛｡ﾃ青ｰﾃ青ｹ), cookies (ﾃ青ｿﾃ青ｵﾃ鯛｡ﾃ青ｵﾃ青ｽﾃ打津青ｵ), and extra credit (ﾃ堕催青ｺﾃ堕ﾃ鯛堙鯛ぎﾃ青ｰ ﾃ青ｺﾃ鯛ぎﾃ青ｵﾃ青ｴﾃ青ｸﾃ鯛)!
