Remembering Her Majesty: A performance benefitting Native Hawaiian scholarship

Hawaii's beloved Queen Lili脢禄uokalani passed from this earth on November 11, 1917. Yet her life, her reign and her creative genius remain powerful symbols and lessons for our l脛聛hui today. In recognition of this centennial, Hawai芒鈧渋nui脛聛kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge is hosting Ho脢禄oh脛聛li脢禄ali脢禄a: Remembering Her Majesty, a special performance of mele, hula and ha脢禄i 脢禄脜聧lelo at Kennedy theatre on Saturday October 7, 2017.

All proceeds from this event will go to scholarships for Native Hawaiian students at the University of Hawai脢禄i M脛聛noa.

The following artists and h脛聛lau have joined together for this occasion: Manu Boyd and H脛聛lau o ke 芒鈧淎芒鈧渁li脢禄i K脜芦 Makani; Nola Nahulu, the Honolulu Youth Opera Chorus and the Hawai脢禄i Opera Chorus; H脛聛lau ka L脛聛 脢禄脜艗nohi Mai o Ha脢禄eha脢禄e; and Vicky Holt Takamine and H脛聛lau Pua Ali脢禄i 脢禄Ilima.

General admission is $50. VIP seating is $120, and includes a hosted reception at 5:30pm, a keepsake program, and preferred seating.

Doors open at 6:30. Performances begin at 7:00 pm.
