John Rubinstein, a Tony-Award winning star of Broadway/TV/Film, will give a FREE master class in Auditioning for Musical Theatre!

Spectators will observe Rubinstein work with pre-selected students from 91精品黑料吃瓜M and 芒鈧淚olani. Rubinstein芒鈧劉s visit is co-sponsored by the 91精品黑料吃瓜M Dept. of Theatre and Dance, and 芒鈧淚olani School with support from the 芒鈧淚olani Tam & Young Visual and Performing Arts Chair and from the Roger A. Long Fund for Western Theatre, the Glenn Cannon Fund, and from Dr. Edwin and Audrey Dierdorff.
John Rubinstein has taught theater and directed plays and musicals at NYU, UCLA, and, for seven years, USC. He is celebrating his 51st year as a professional actor.
He created the title role in the Broadway musical, Pippin, in 1972, winning a Theatre World Award, and appeared on Broadway in the revival of Pippin in 2014, which he followed by touring in the show throughout the United States, and in Japan and Europe. He won the Tony Award as Best Actor in 1980, as well as the Drama Desk Award, for Children of a Lesser God.
He played the 芒鈧揥izard芒鈧 in Wicked in LA for 18 months, and won the Lucille Lortel Award as Best Actor (off-Broadway) for Elmer Rice芒鈧劉s Counsellor-at-Law. He starred in two television series: Family (Emmy nomination) and Crazy Like A Fox, and in over 200 episodes and TV films. Feature films include Hello, I Must Be Going, 21 Grams, Red Dragon, Sublime, The Boys from Brazil, Someone To Watch Over Me, Daniel, and Getting Straight. He is a theater, TV, and film director, a composer, an orchestrator, and a conductor of film music.
He will next appear on Broadway in April 2017 as 芒鈧揋randpa Joe芒鈧 in the new musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
