Cooking with Turmeric

Turmeric, known as `脜聧lena in the Hawaiian culture, has also been used as a flavorful addition in Southern Asia and Middle Eastern cuisines as the distinctive flavor base of many curries and other traditional dishes. Current research is also looking at the health benefits of turmeric when included in the diet. Cassandra de Kramer will demonstrate several delicious recipes as she discusses the benefits of using turmeric in everyday cooking. She芒鈧劉ll also discuss the propagation and growth of turmeric, harvesting, storing and drying the root. Each student will receive a turmeric toot, and sample Cassandra芒鈧劉s delicious turmeric dishes. Class fee $25.
