“Mo‘olelo for transformative leadership: Lessons from Engaged Practice”

This presentation will explore three main areas within the author's life-writing process: the necessity of close relationships, the integration of cultural practice, and the power of mo‘olelo.

Dr. KaiwipunikauikawÄ“kiu Lipe is a Native Hawaiian mother, daughter, wife, hula dancer, and scholar. Her dissertation, which won the dissertation of the year award for research in post-secondary education at the 2015 American Education Research Association annual conference, focused on the central question: How can the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, a predominantly non-Hawaiian university, transform into a Hawaiian place of learning? She is currently a specialist faculty in Hawai‘inuiākea School of Hawaiian Knowledge at 91ƷϳԹM focusing on Native Hawaiian affairs.
